Ashish Arora - yoga teacher
Ashish grew up in New Delhi, India where he briefly practiced yoga in Elementary school and learned Sanskrit in Middle and High school. He did not practice yoga again till he went to a yoga class in January 2015 in his office gym at Nintendo(where he worked at the time). That's when he realized the possibilities yoga opened up for him. The same year he completed his 200-hour Teacher Training at Shakti Vinyasa Yoga with Lisa Black.
After spending 16 years of working as an engineer in the Computer and video game industry, he is now devoted to practicing/teaching yoga. He loves to practice different styles of yoga, practicing about 15-20 hours/week across Seattle studios. He has practiced yoga at local studios/ashrams in cities across the US, Europe and India.
Ashish currently teaches at some of the top yoga studios in the Seattle area. He teaches with a smile and brings his fun personality to his teaching, just like his own practice.
Ashish strongly believes in finding happiness & joy in this moment. He believes we keep postponing joy & happiness to the future connecting it to goals. That leads us to take everyday life too seriously. Life is a journey and joy & happiness are available much more readily if we really get present to the journey.
Trainings: Ashish has completed Level 1-3 trainings with Baron Baptiste; is a Baptiste Certified teacher; and has assisted multiple Baptiste Yoga programs. He has trained in other styles with Tiffany Cruikshank(Yoga Medicine), Annie Carpenter(Smart Flow), Anna Forrest (Forrest yoga), Kino Macgregor (Ashtanga), Janet Stone, Sean Corn, Eoin Finn, Sianna Sherman(Rasa Yoga) and Dharma Mittra.
